Layered Felt Monster Magnets

Spring has finally sprung (YAY), and with it- a very welcome break from school! If you’re like me and planning a staycation you won’t want to miss this fun and easy craftventure, so grab your felt scraps and your littles and let’s make some layered mini monster magic!
*Disclaimer: This also shockingly works amazingly well when crafting non-monster-related magnets.

Instructions:

  1. Using dies, cut out varying sizes of circles in your chosen shades.
Tip: Cut extra circles to fill in pieces with differing numbers of layers for height variance.
  1. Trim stray fibers with scissors to clean up the edges. This will make gluing a bit easier.
  1. Layer your design to ensure there are enough pieces for desired shape. Then lay each piece in sequential order onto the workspace.
  1. Begin with the base piece, add a small dollop of glue and attach magnet. Next closely circle the magnet with glue and add a second spot of glue directly on top of the magnet. Place the next piece. Continue by adding a small dollop of glue along with the next piece until your shape is complete. *Tip: do not press firmly as the glue will easily seep through the acrylic felt fibers. A gentle touch is all that’s needed.
  1. Once complete the overall shape will show the differing layers very well. If desired, stop here. However, carefully trimming around the edges will give a smoother appearance.

And done! I hope you enjoyed crafting some awesome monster feature magnets. Now you can keep the fun going all break long by attaching them to any and every magnet-friendly surface!
