Prep:
  1. Print out the PDF template and cut out your stencils. Do NOT scale the image. We printed our template on card stock paper.
  2. Using your stencils and a fabric marker, trace out your template onto the corresponding felt colors and cut the shapes out using fabric scissors.
  3. Grab your mouth pieces for your chosen mask. Using your fabric glue, layer and glue the pieces together following the PDF template. Set aside for the glue to dry.
  1. Grab your mask base and the light blue face pieces for your corresponding mask. Line up the edges of the light blue face pieces with the mask base, and straight stitch close to the edges to applique the pieces together.
  2. Layer your mask pieces right sides together - applique side facing one another - and sew the center curve of the mask with a ¼” seam allowance. Clip the curved seam to reduce bulk and present a cleaner curve from the front.

  1. Fold the ends of the mask and straight stitch with a ½” seam allowance to create elastic casings.
  2. Cut four (4) strips of elastic, each 7 inches long. You can cut the elastic longer or shorter for your best fit. Attach a safety pin to one end of an elastic strip and thread the safety pin through the casings on the sides of the mask. Sew the ends of the elastic together and rotate the loop until the seam is hidden inside the casing.

  1. Time to add the finishing touches to your mask! For the Harley Quinn mask, glue the entire moth piece and nose onto the mask. For the Joker mask, ONLY glue the corners of the mouth onto the mask and ONLY the top of the nose onto the mask base for best visual results.

Tip: We found that making a small bundle of felt scraps or paper to shape the masks’ curve, made gluing the pieces down much easier.
Let the fabric glue dry for 2-4 hours, then show off your brand-new Harley Quinn and/or Joker mask to all your friends-at a safe distance of course!
