A Merry Little Felt-Mas Tablescape
Hello Felters!
Hope your holiday prep is going smoothly. This is the first year for myself that I decided to do a TON of DIYs and I feel like I’m running out of time...FAST! Anyone else with me?
This year I wanted to share a felt holiday tablescape for anyone who may have extra free time on their hands, or who are in need of a little inspiration to get the ball rolling before the big family dinner.
First off, I wanted to stress to everyone that this is not a last-minute project unless you are a super sewer! For myself I am slowly getting into embroidery, and while doing this little project, I was still experimenting the quickest way to get the stitching done. So, bear with me…I’m no expert…yet.
This felt tablescape is a minimalist design of red, white, and green colors.
First, I created a simple stitching design (download pattern here) that I wanted to feature on the felt table runner and coasters. I printed out the design to scale and stenciled it onto the felt. This way I knew where my stitching would be and ensuring an even stitch.
I used Dark Parrot Green embroidery floss for the pattern. The coasters used is our Designer Felt Coasters in white.
Once the pattern was completed on the coasters and table runner, I started to measure out where I wanted the red ribbon to be stitched onto the felt.
With some leftover 1.2mm Wool Craft Felt, that I used for the runner, I cut out four strips to use as napkin rings. The sizing will depend on which type of napkin you will be using, if any. Since I wanted to go all out, I used white fabric napkins.
I stitched the red ribbon centered within the napkin ring. This way it looked like an entire set that’s meant to be together.
Time to set the table! I placed the napkins on-top of the plates with the empty glasses on the coasters. For the center piece I placed a single green candle in the center of the table. I then grabbed a poinsettia garland (which I have plenty of), and wrapped it around the candle.
Can’t go wrong with a touch of sparkles! I just had to add these 2 snowflake ornaments for the finishing touch. And VOILA! A merry little felt-mas tablescape.
